This will work D MYVAR S 30 INZ(' thisisseveralcharacters ') D Field S 10 C EvalR Field = %TrimR(MYVAR) rob@dekko.com Sent by: To: rpg400-l@midrange.com rpg400-l-admin@mi cc: drange.com Subject: right$ 06/10/2002 02:42 PM Please respond to rpg400-l This is a multipart message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] MYVAR=' thisisseveralcharacters ' I want store the right 10 nonblank characters into a new variable. %trim will get rid of the leading, and trailing, blanks. Nearest way I can figure to do this is to use a 10 character field as a work variable and evalr the %trim of MYVAR into this. Any other suggestions?
