I have a number of service programs and I *never* use update.  If you had a
service program that consisted of a large number of modules and you only
changed one, using UPDSRVPGM might make sense.  My service program are
usually one module and never more than two (one RPGIV module and one CLLE
module) so I always use CRTSRVPGM.

In fact I created a PDM option to do a CRTSRVPGM with the parameters the
way I want them.  If it is a single-module service program, I just key in
the option on the PDM member list of the source member and press enter.  If
it is a multi-module service program then I have to press F4 and list the
modules.
