>Buck, I think that concatenation idea is really could help. > Is it exact syntax what I should put in my SQL statement for >the "cat"? Yes. where (digits(snscc) concat digits(snsyy) concat digits(snsmm) concat digits(snsdd)) between :FC and :TC >Also my Fdate and Tdate should be declare in RPG DS >as 8 characters? Yes. The idea is that you will convert the 4 individual numeric fields to character with DIGIT() and then combine them into one long character with CONCAT. Once you have one character field containing the date, you'll need to compare it to another character. You can see how this works by using STRSQL. Paste the SELECT statement without the WHERE clause, like so: SELECT (digits(snscc) concat digits(snsyy) concat digits(snsmm) concat digits(snsdd)) FROM ... Then you can see how it works. If you are going to be doing much work with SQL, you should really become comfortable with the SQL manuals. Go to the InfoCentre at http://www.iseries.ibm.com/library and navigate to Database and File Systems, then DB2 UDB for iSeries. The right side will have good references. --buck
