Actually, I think the basic thing we don't agree on is the design of computer programs. I design computer programs with ease of maintainability first, efficiently second. Comes from writing programs that were very efficient that no one could maintain except me. So now I write for maintainability first and efficiency second. We'll just have to agree to disagree. P.S. And as to whether adding the static keyword to a variable moves it from the stack to the CS or from the stack to my grandmother's basement is a mute point and nothing to do with the discussion. And I know how malloc, remalloc, demalloc work. Regards, Jim Langston From: Joe Pluta [mailto:joepluta@PlutaBrothers.com] Unfortunately, we don't agree on the basic operation of a computer program, from how a static is defined to how functions such as malloc() work, so I doubt we'll come to a reasonable agreement here.
