When you say "based on" do you mean the BASED() keyword in the D-specs,
i.e. a "basing-pointer"?

I assume that it's not supposed to return the same address, and that
you've written code that's intended to change the value of the pointer to
some new address?

What does this 2nd subproc do?   Clearly, if it's the one that's returning
the value you didn't expect, that it's the one we need info about...
Posting your code would certainly describe the situation better than words
can...
