Re: %subst is there a limit???

Starting at position 983 for a length of 1082 goes to position 2064. If
your data field is only 2000 long, it is out of range.

Hello all,
I am doing a %subst function, but i get an error, need enlightenment.

C                   Eval      Line = %SubSt(data:S:E)

Length or start position is out of range for the string operation (C G D
F).

S = 0983. and  E = 1082.

Is this message referring to E?
What is the largest value i can have?

I need to Subst a field of 2000 char into fields of 100, any other
suggestions?/
