Jerry, I could have swore, but it appears I'm wrong that level check no allowed different record format names. isn't the first time, won't be the last.... (time I'm wrong that is). the alternative is to internalize the code. not hard - just describe the three fields just as they are in the any source file SRCSEQ, SRCDAT, SRCDTA, and away you go. sorry to have misled...
