RE: S/36-mode alt indexes

Geez, how did I ever manage to spend seven years of my career on a S/36?
Must be spoiled. <sigh>

When you say "a permanent view, like a logical file", I only need it for the
job that creates it.  Or is it even not that permanent?

But if you are wanting to create a permanent view, like a logical file -
you can't.
