I don't know, like I said it was a shot in the dark. I wonder if performing the RESET has anything to do with the pointer address? Also, since your Array is only single dimension, and all 12 dimensions are populated by your FOR loop, what does the DOU/READE get you? Why not a chain? The only possible benefit I see is if there are multiple matching records you would be guaranteed to get the last one which you could get through SETGT and a single READPE... If the read initially failed, wouldn't the array still have it's initialized values? One last, Pointer ignorant question... when the sub-procedure ends, what happens to the memory allocation for plan? If that memory was released, would the pointer you pass back to th calling program still be valid? Maybe this is an activation group problem? Again, I don't know if any of this would have anything to do with your problem, just friendly comments :-) Joel R.
