should look more like this -

edtwrd('       $0.  ')

and you would need the commas in place too if you so desire.

There are a couple of options here:

First, the old way of

O            field   11 2 EDTWRD('____$0.__)

another way would be similar to the following code:

results = 'Warehouse total for ' + %editC(udate:'Y') +
          ' is ' + %trimL(%editC(totalamount:'1':'$'))      ;

The %editc works that way too in pre V5R1/free format.
