Try trimming the trailing blanks off of the file name....
(This is a really common mistake.)


The file is called:
'/rob/spool2.txt'

not

'/rob/spool2.txt                                                  '

Consequently, it can't find the file.   Either use a VARYING field,
or put a %trimr() in the first argument to the stat() call...
