Well, the problem is certainly thoroughly explained, and there is an example of creating a CMD object, but the example uses a *CHAR parameter, instead of *DEC. I assume (it's Buck's example) that it was done this way because the vast majority of the problems are caused by the more complex rules of the *CHAR. It'd be nice if you took a minute to add the *DEC example that you sent to Ping. Because it focuses only on the issue with numerics, it's much more concise, and would be a valuable addition to the FAQ. Regards, John Taylor
