I believe that real production problems do get solved here every day. This really shows the power of the community process and I am frequently thankful for this list and others like it. However... I think what is really trying to be said is that you shouldn't RELY on the list to solve your problems. Since it is all volunteer and there is no guarantee of receiving an answer (or even that any answer you get is correct) it is patently irresponsible to EXPECT the list to solve your problems or to rely solely on the list. Getting frustrated at the list for a lack of response simply isn't fair to the poster or the list members. The same holds true for any kind of a Forum or Bulletin Board service on the web. For most of them on which I participate the fastest way to get ignored is to put something like URGENT in a message header. I'm not ranting on anyone here, just trying to clarify the issue... Joel R.
