I am growing in my understanding of working with IFS obviously, I am still on that stage. Simply stated, I want to be able, from an RPG program, to search on a specific folder (where my CGI sources are) and look within the source for the SELECT/FROM constants. This will help me prepare a dynamic documentation of all my CGI sources and the files that are in use in each one of them. I was wrong when I described my scenario thinking that these objects are not in the AS400. What I meant to say is that I have not created a database file and have a member for each CGI source and do a SCAN on it. This was my first plan. However, I do know now that I can do what I want by using a read() API to read a stream file content. I am working with that potential solution right now.
