Thanks a bunch everyone for the replies.
And, David, I actually did come across that.

I just created a simple command that allowed you to enter a "Search
Attribute" parameter and return it's value.
Very simply, I did a WRKJOB OUTPUT(*PRINT), and then copied to file, and
then read the file till I found my "Search Attribute" and then
returned it's value. Not very hi-tech or glamorous on the inside, but hey,
as long as it does what I need, when I need it.
(Kind of pulled an old-school TAATOOL trick) (No disrepect intended).

David & Bruce,

The iSeries-toolkit open source project (www.iseries-toolkit.org)
has a RTVJOBINF module that uses QUSRJOBI. It does not
currently support the JOBI0600 format, but it does cover the 100,
300, and 700 formats -- adding support for the System 36
environment indicator should be pretty easy. The module is
available from:

http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/iseries-toolkit/CVSROOT/src/qrpglesrc/rtvjobinf.irp?rev=HEAD&content-type=text/vnd.viewcvs-markup

Not a command, but the Retrieve Job Information (QUSRJOBI) API can
return that information. The following will have a value of *NONE
for &ENV if not in the S/36 environment, and *S36 if in the S/36
environment.

PGM
DCL &RCVVAR *CHAR 512
DCL &ENV *CHAR 10
CALL QUSRJOBI (&RCVVAR X'00000200' JOBI0600 '*' ' ' x'00000000')
CHGVAR &ENV %SST(&RCVVAR 117 10)
ENDPGM
