Scott, I am guessing you are using SEU to edit your code. If you use CODE/400 you can easily see 150+ characters on the screen (depending on what your resolution is set at and what font you selected for your code). But even then why should the RPG compiler dictate how long I make my free form statements? I see the benefit because I am writing an RPG CGI program right now and having longer lines would greatly help the situation. For example I have to put the following on two lines instead of one because I am limited. #WrStout('<option value="' + %trim(IDID) + '">' + %trim(IDNAM) + '-' + %trim(IDID) + '</option>' + nl); Aaron Bartell -----Original Message----- From: Scott Mildenberger [mailto:Smildenber@Washcorp.com] Sent: Thursday, March 14, 2002 10:56 AM To: 'rpg400-l@midrange.com' Subject: RE: RPG /free Aaron, I for one don't see the limit as a problem because to me it is very hard to read source code that has lines much longer than that. I prefer to be able to see the entire line without having to scroll right and left. Scott Mildenberger > -----Original Message----- > From: Bartell, Aaron L.
