I always wondered why someone at IBM didn't come up with a version of OS/400 that would run on a PC and/or server. Talk about a stable environment. And if IBM would have figured out how to give OS/400 a GUI look-and -feel (a "real" one, not simply an add-on), my PC would be in PC-heaven. It always seems crippled and unstable by the reality that I have to run Windows on it. If a PC could run OS/400 and have a true GUI, I believe people would flock to it. But since IBM hasn't done it yet, maybe I'll never "get it" (in the ownership sense, not the understanding sense).
