Jon & Bob, I might be missing the meaning of "sharing", but you don't have to use import and export to share storage. You can pass a parameter. Another way to share storage that is not exported is to use a shared pointer. The shared pointer can be exported, passed as a parameter, or stored in a user space. Import is also not necessary if you use the activate program and retrieve export APIs. These are not that common, and may make some cringe, but they have the potential of simplifying a programmer's use of a procedure.
