Jon & Bob,

I might be missing the meaning of "sharing", but you don't have to use

import and export to share storage. You can pass a parameter.

Another way to share storage that is not exported is to use a shared
pointer. The shared pointer can be exported, passed as a parameter,
or stored in a user space. Import is also not necessary if you use the

activate program and retrieve export APIs. These are not that common,
and may make some cringe, but they have the potential of simplifying
a programmer's use of a procedure.

Exactly, and as an FYI, you can not EXPORT a field declared in a
subprocedure, nor can you import a field declared in a subprocedure.
