I'm going with *New for each program called from the menu. All service programs will be *caller. Menu options calling OPM CL driver remains as-is (no need to convert CLP to CLLE), though any ILE RPG called from the CL should be *New. Management is concerned with group jobs and activation groups, as our menu system allows most users to open their most common options for access on demand (ATTN key to select group job tasks). I have seen no problems with this so far..... It came back from Fall COMMON 2001, to use an activation group for as long as the user is signed on the system and delete the AG when the user signs off. What's the best way to handle it? It was also recommended at COMMON to NEVER mix OPM and ILE, so we've avoided the situation. But, from what I've read in this thread, others are doing it without any significant problems - as long as a NAG (QILE) or *NEW is used when the ILE program is called. I guess never say never.
