Are you familiar with Service Programs? The way I learned was to put all the prototypes in a service program (I'm assuming you know how to name a prototype) exit the prototype and compile Create a program that has the H spec NOMAIN I use copy books to get the defined prototyped call in my Service Program Name each procedure just like you would in your main program and when you are finished compile. In the RPG Program don't forget to define the Service program in the D specs In my RPG Program I prefer to use the eval statement to return a value from a service program example eval (GetDate : CCYY : MM : DD) I'm going by memory, I don't have an example right off, but maybe this will help you.
