I suspect they're looking for an answer something like: 1. SFLSIZ = SFLPAG 2. SFLSIZ = some even multiple of SFLPAG 3. SFLSIZ = SFLPAG + 1 Bill The TrekTeam <trekteam@pacbell.net>@midrange.com on 02/15/2002 01:41:33 PM Please respond to rpg400-l@midrange.com Sent by: rpg400-l-admin@midrange.com To: Michael Robbins <mprobbins@hotmail.com>, rpg400-l@midrange.com cc: Subject: Ways to load a subfile... Hi PGMRs, (Hope this is "RPG" enough for this list) I've been asked the following question by prospective employers... "What are the three ways to load a subfile?" I think that they are asking the question wrong, to the best of my knowledge there are only two ways to load a subfile, 1) write the subfile records or 2) Initilize the subfile (filling it with blanks/zeros). I assume that the question should be... "What 3 sources can the data come from to load a subfile?" (1. program generated 2. screen input 3. external file, data area, etc...) Unless I've missed something along my route. Any ideas?
