I have been using code/400 for around a year now and I do NOT consider it a replacement for SEU. It just depends what you want to do. You do see more Code in Code/400 than in SEU and scrolling is MUCH better. I use the Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V (Copy/Paste) quite often. In fact I have a code repository that I use to insert code 'snippets' into my RPG. This alone has saved me tons of time. The 'Navigator' in Code/400 is quite helpful as well. It shows you a graphical representation of your program. All the subroutines are in boxes and have connecting lines to subroutines they call and to subroutines that call them. GADS its early, Im rambling. :) but DO NOT get me wrong, I stil use SEU to 'POP' in on some code to look up something. I use SEU when I want to copy code from one source member to another. So in short. Code/400 is just a tool. Its up to you WHEN you want to use it. > -----Original Message----- > From: Buck Calabro [SMTP:Buck.Calabro@commsoft.net] > Sent: Monday, February 11, 2002 3:44 PM > To: rpg400-l@midrange.com > Subject: RE: Coloring the RPG code > > >I defy anyone to show me a real, timesaving, > >superior function using CODE that I can't > >duplicate or at _least_ have a usable > >workaround using SEU, when coding strait RPG. > > Regular Expressions. > Macro Language. > --buck > _______________________________________________ > This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list > To post a message email: RPG400-L@midrange.com > To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, > visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/rpg400-l > or email: RPG400-L-request@midrange.com > Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives > at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
