Yes, I understand exactly. Which is why it is so disturbing. Again, the
compiler arbitrarily selects packed for you, unless you re-declare the
variable... errrrr... definition... errrrrr... description.... errr...
bufferhead.......

You tell us that with the Great and Powerful OZ (38/400) you don't need no
stinkin I specs. The declaration can be copied in from the file itself...
Hey! no more outta-synch file description copy book/I-specs. Just
outta-synch D specs now.  ;-)
