Part of the answer depends upon the printer you're using. I've done this
with O-specs on Genicom printers; the challenge is finding the documentation
explaining the transparency and bar code controls offered by the printer
hardware. You'll end up with a character variable with some escape
character (like x'02'), a series of commands detailing the bar code type,
size, etc., the data to be bar-coded, and another escape character putting
the printer back in "normal" mode.

If you're going IPDS, get out your forms ruler!

Reeve

Subject: Bar Codes in O-Specs

Is there a way to print bar codes from an O-spec? We've got a print
program that we need to add bar codes to, and I'd like to avoid changing
the whole thing over to a print file.

If the answer is "no", are there any tips on how to convert O-specs to a
print file?

Thanks very much,
