what i mean is that i still have spaces in the result. just seems to ignore
the %trim.
i've started playing around, trying to figure out what is going on and this
is what i have found.

. The first part of the %trim is pulling data from a compile time array.
  such as eval field1 = ary(1)
            eval field1 = %trim(field1) + ' ' + field2

. if i create a field defined the same size as the array, inz it with the
same value as the array, it works.

Depends on what you mean by, "not working". Error occurs? Still have
spaces in result? Machine reboots?

Subject: %trim on V5.1

I just ftp'd a program from a 4.5 machine to a 5.1 machine.
The program compiled fine, but fields that i am using %trim on are not
working.
Anybody have any ideas why this may be?
