And what's wrong with using a file to manage this type of
information?  The style of data you're dealing with looks
and smells exactly like a table in a database.

Using linked lists or dynamically allocated multiple
occurrence data structures can be done (as others have
described), but not as easily or as clearly as using a
file.  Why complicate matters needlessly for yourself?
