In reality, anyone who has access to debug probably already has access to enough other security to mongerfy the data anyways. Do you know of a shop in which a user who routinely uses STRDBG, or an equivalent, doesn't have access to the data the program is updating via a tool like UPDDTA? Obviously the first obstacle is for it to find the correct prototype. Even if this were possible, IBM may have other reasons for not supporting it. A recent post suggested one reason they don't support changing the instruction pointer for the next statement to be executed is due to potential security ramifications.
