 > Can I move a character field to a data structure with an OPCODE other
than MOVE?

Yes - Eval works just fine (although you don't need to code "Eval" in /free
of course!)

 > What about moving a character to a packed field.

No (not yet anyway) - you could of course write your own subproc.

Numeric to character (via %Char or %EditC/W) works fine, as do num and char
to date (%Date)
