I'm assuming you want to skip the part where you explicitly assign the calculated quantities from the array to the file fields. You can define a 366 element array over the portion of the record that contains the quantity fields in an externally defined data structure. Then your calculated values will go directly to the file fields. > -----Original Message----- > From: Tyra_Brodsky@vfc.com [mailto:Tyra_Brodsky@vfc.com] > Sent: Monday, December 17, 2001 12:01 PM > To: rpg400-l@midrange.com > Subject: Moving array elements to a file > > > Hi: > > I have a file that has warehouse, sku and 366 quantity fields > (one for each > day of the year). > > My program calculates the quantity in an array (366 > elements...one for each > day of the year). > > I know that I can individually move the array elements to the > file fields. > I also know I can create a data structure for the file fields > and then move > the array to the data structure in a do loop. > > Is there another way where I don't have to redefine my output file? > > Thanks > > Tyra Brodsky > Sr. Programmer Analyst > The North Face, Inc. >
