Due to a special situation in dealing with a client-server application implemented with a screen-scraper, I need to have automatic input to my program from a subfile record selection without locking the keyboard. On the subfile, I am using a single-character input field with CHECK(ER) for auto-entry as my record selection field and that works well. However, when the program accepts input from this field I need to leave the keyboard unlocked due to other stuff the screen-scraper is doing (moving the highlight bar around, etc, which is causing keyboard error beeps). The UNLOCK keyword seems to be just what I need, however the compiler tells me it cannot be used with subfiles. The DDS Reference manual makes no mention of this limitation. If the manual is wrong and compiler is right (which I assume to be the case), does anyone know of a similar function or work-around that can be used with subfiles, or am I going to have to byte-the-bullet and write my own fake subfile?
