I would do a subst of the field and see if it is >='000000000' and
<='999999999', that is if you only care that all 9 of the digits are
numeric.

How do I check to see if one part of a text field is numeric? An example of
the field is: ' 12345THIS IS TEXT'. I want to check to see if the first 9
characters are numeric.

TIA for any help.

Mike
