Dr Frank had an AS/400e laptop for awhile.  His latest book, "Fortress
Rochester" points out that the current iSeries chips give off too much heat
for laptop usage -- it would melt the laptop.  Sorry, but I don't have the
book with me at the moment for the exact quote.

The easiest way for IBM would be to make a PCI card containing an
iseries
computer. I think I've read a few years ago about a 370 on a PC card.

That way they never had to rewrite SLIC.
