It is indeed a bug.  Just get the most recent PTFs for RPG
and you won't see this weird behavior anymore.  Specifically,
ask for PTF SI01625.

(This is a relic of the diagnostic in old-style RPG calcs
where the compiler was nice enough to tell you that the
characters after the END were not correct.)
