What we are thinking of doing, for the list API's anyways, is just define the biggest format data structure. As long as the developer uses the data length from the general header and not %len(dangds) to process the list then they should be okay. And if they try to access fields from a big format, and they requested a smaller format, therefore the field isn't initialized correctly; well; then they deserve any possible MCH error. Hopefully that will be caught in early testing anyways. Besides, if they are going to screw up like that what was to stop them from accessing that field anyways from one of a selection of data structures. You can't make something fool proof. Fools are too ingenious. Rob Berendt ================== A smart person learns from their mistakes, but a wise person learns from OTHER peoples mistakes.
