Rob, We're running V4R5. I am not sure exactly what you mean here. There was an interesting topic on MIDRANGE-L, instigated by me. Seems that I could run a SQL statement interactively but not in an imbedded RPGLE program. I did not qualify libraries. It was pulling data from the wrong libraries. The same file exists in multiple libraries. The job running changed it's library list to process the next file. The problem was that it was using the ODP/QDT to process the first library. The code worked great on V4R5 but failed on V5R1. Due to this error, several of our EDI programs went belly up when we upgraded to V5R1. We still have one V4R5 machine in which it works great. I finally got IBM to open an APAR on this, (SE02800), yesterday. I could even run the program in debug. See the failure. Use F21 to get a command line. Run the SQL interactively, and it worked. I know where to look at closed apar's, http://as400service.ibm.com/supporthome.nsf/document/10000035 but open apar's?... I know to how view my open pmr's. I was just trying to see if others could get to the apar. Rob Berendt ================== A smart person learns from their mistakes, but a wise person learns from OTHER peoples mistakes. When I execute the statement: SELECT a.itnbr, b.itdsc, a.edate, a.itcls, b.itcls, b.lstum, a.price, b.unmsr FROM hwoei6.Prcmst a LEFT OUTER JOIN amflib.Itemasa b ON a.itnbr = b.itnbr WHERE cusno = 206800 ORDER BY a.itnbr (the tables are not qualified in the RPG Program. Libl is used) from the Program, all columns returned from the secondary file are returned in HEX therefore not being included into the program. but when I run the statement using interactive SQL, it works fine. I copied the statement into the SQL Script tool in OpsNav, it also returns hex for the b file. The really funny thing is if I change the amflib qualifier, which is a test environment, to amfliba, which is a live environment, the statement executes fine in the OpsNav tool. I'm lost here, Thanks, Mark Mark Walter Sr. Programmer/Analyst Hanover Wire Cloth a div of CCX, Inc. mwalter@hanoverwire.com http://www.hanoverwire.com 717.637.3795 Ext.3040 _______________________________________________ This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l. _______________________________________________ This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
