Yes, I get the idea, but I'm too dim to grasp what useful processing can
occur on the returned string.  Without a key to tie the record back to the
database, I'm stumped.  Not the first time though! <g>

Anyway, David Morris posted some very illuminating code snippets on using
the SQLDA to the MIDRANGE-L list on 3 Oct 1997.  I think that would be a
great place to start your exploration.  I'd love to hear how it turned out.
