Hello:

I have a control file with all the fields I need to select. I want to read
this file and build my select statement. So far no problem. The idea here is
to reuse the same program for selecting fields from any file specified in
the control file.

The question I have is in my fetch statement I have done like this before:

c/EXEC SQL
c+ FETCH next from c1 INTO :account, :name
c/END-EXEC

Instead of fetch into each field can I take all the fields selected and put
into a variable string. I hope I have explained the question?

I can do a concat on my select for all fields and have a # sign as a
delimiter between fields into a single field. Then my fetch will put to a
data structure of 2000 byte string or a variable string. Can I do this?

Any help and or sample code will be appreciated.

Thanks
GG
