My suggestion, Quit playing with OpnQryF in RPG.

Write a SQL program in RPG,   Use it as an External I/O module for that
file. Do the Prepare, etc.  Pass in the Where and Order by clauses,  pass
back records via Externally defined D/S's (multiple occurring or Blocked
Fetches).

Much more flexible,  Much easier,  You can then use the External routine
from

Subfile programs
Report Programs
Visual RPG programs,
Webstudio for iSeries programs.

Just my opinion.
If you want an example,  I do presentations on this at COMMON.

Hi,
i have a subfile with the selection and I am trying to open query over the
PF file in RPG with query selection. I tried  different Scopes , share
yes/no and it is still does not work right. I am doing opnqryf in QCmxExc.
Delete override first, close file, override file , open query, open file.

when i read file here is what i am getting.

Get option list not valid for member ORDERSP.
I/O error CPF5264 was detected in file ORDERSP.
Function check. RNX1299 unmonitored by DISPLAY1R at statement 0000003120,
  instruction X'0000'.
