Look at the %editc and %editw built in functions. Both return a character string and take a numeric and an edit code or edit word as parameters. Just like O specs. <g> Sounds like the interface is a bit on the inflexible side. -----Original Message----- From: saustad@deltadentalwi.com [mailto:saustad@deltadentalwi.com] Sent: Thursday, July 05, 2001 1:23 PM To: rpg400-l@midrange.com Subject: mapping a field For a data warehousing project, we need to map a P(7,2) dollar field to 10A field, which they are calling a currency format type. Right adjusted, no commas, if minus sign, needs to be front, ie. -999999.99. If the value is 0, supply 0.00. Does anyone know of an algorithm or a procedure to peform this? By the way, I'm not an SQL person. Is the currency data type an SQL thing?
