I did say before that the point was subtle, and partly due to the difficulties in handling external names within the RPG programs namespace. (I really don't want to go into details, but it took a few releases before we got the processing right. At least, I hope it's now right!) File names are names within the RPG programs namespace. That is, you can't have a variable with the same name as a file. It just happens that that internal name also represents an external name. Confused yet? Cheers!
