It isn't the CALLB, it's the way you've compiled PGMB.

Do a DSPPGM PGMA, PGMB and PGMC and make note of the AG each of them are
compiled for.  See if that helps clarify the scenario.  If not, posting them
will undoubtedly spur somebody to pop in an explanation. <grin>

Hang with it - it's a bit different, but it's worth learning!
