I do not know if the CLI or Call Level Interface programming for SQL will support that. I suspect that the CLI is not bound by the same curmudgeons who make the SQL precompiler. I will share one interesting dilemma here. We used to have a routine in which Domino used a stored procedure to call a rpg program and was returned a result set. This worked great in development but not in production. Production failed because the data was not on the same 400 as the Domino server. It seems that DRDA doesn't support the retrieval of result sets from a stored procedure. So the whiz bang RPG program to generate the next available number was promptly rewritten in Notes. If so, can someone point me to the manual or an example? The 'DB2 UDB for AS/400 Advanced Database Function' Redbook (SG24-4249-02) for v4r5 says (in a note on Page 270) that "Some traditional programming languages, such as RPG and COBOL, are not able to retrieve stored procedure return result sets." Is that still true for v5r1? I created a test db, added a stored procedure to create a result set and can see it in Ops Nav, but now how do I get it into my program? Currently it's all on the iSeries but when in production the database in question will be on a win2k box running SQL 7.0. I'm trying to get a small database replicated from the mickey mouse 2k box of the vendor to the business systems on the iSeries. Thanks!
