  • Subject: iSeries calling stored procedures in a PC SQL database

I'm venturing into a new area for me and clearly need some help.

Running OS/400, currently r450 soon r510 with CAE. I need to access an SQL
data base on a PC and call some (5, possible multiple calls on each) stored
procedures after I receive a message from the PC system that their data base
has changed. Connection is TCP/IP based 100mb Ethernet, but database is
actually very small consisting of multiple tables.

Posted to the RPG list because calls need to be done from RPG.

What I hope to do is create procedures to do this and put them into a
service program accessible to a couple interface programs.

Purpose is to get the database onto the iSeries so the real users can see
it. One way deal, the iSeries can look but not change. PC runs the slot
machine system, iSeries runs the business.

TIA for any help and pointers.
