I don't have any issue with using FRCDTA, or indeed using an API to send a message to the program message queue with a message subfile, just that as the original respondent had already tried to code this to work with an EXFMT and a WRITE, and the change was straightforward to make his code work without any DDS changes, or changes to his RPG, I thought simple was best!
