Hi! I have a situation where we have 17 sites, each site has their own
"don't call" file, and there is one global "don't call" file as well. For
each site I need to display a subfile of all the records in the global file,
as well as all the records in that site's file. The subfile has to be
sorted by name, or zip code, or area code, or area code & exchange, or phone
number. For the phone number I've been trying to use a logical file with 2
record formats called DONTCLLTN like this:

DONTCLLTN
 R SDONTCLL PFILE(*LIBL/DONTCALL)
   DCTEL#
   DCNAME
 K DCTEL#
 R ODONTALL PFILE(CIRCONIF/DONTCALL)
   DCTEL#
   DCNAME
 K DCTEL#

 The code is like this:
 TelKey SETLL ODntCllT
 TelKey SETLL SDntCllT
               READ DontCllTN

The problem is, depending on what I put in the search field, it either:
 a) only reads the SDONTCLL format (it hits the eof on the DOU)
 OR
 b) it reads the ODONTCLL, then the SDONTCLL format and the phone number
start out again at the
    beginning of the search value.
 OR
 c) some strange combination of both.

I also tried a logical file with just one format over both physical files,
but got basically the same results.

In any case, when I try to handle the roll downs the READP doesn't seem to
work at all. Am I doing something wrong? Because
these files (especially the global one) are enormous, a work
file would not be efficient. Thanks!
