Jim, Just like the others have mentioned we use the header. subfile, footer approach, but we also have a fourth display which shows up in the middle of where the subfile would be. This is where we put the 'no entries found' message. This is in addition to the error message subfile that is on the screen. If you are conditioning the SFLDSP on an indicator, use the inverse of that same indicator to output the message panel. So a typical program will contain: C WRITE HEADINGS Screen headings C WRITE FKEYTEXT Function keys C WRITE ERRMSGS Error messages C* >><<== C SFL# COMP *ZEROS 96 DSP SFL C SETON 97 DSP SFLCTL C N96 WRITE EMPTY Empty SFL msg C EXFMT SFLCTL 90 C SETOF 9697 Jim Langston wrote: > Well, I do write a footer myself, I have a header, subfile and footer. +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
