I would delete them in two different statements.
Here is code we use.
C/EXEC SQL WHENEVER SQLERROR GOTO ERROR   
 C/END-EXEC                                
 C/EXEC SQL                                
 C+ DELETE FROM PNBOM WHERE pn = :PN    
 C/END-EXEC                                
 C/EXEC SQL                                
 C+ DELETE FROM PNassy WHERE pn = :PN   
 C/END-
And here is one that deletes orphaned records

C/EXEC SQL WHENEVER SQLERROR GOTO ERROR                           
C/END-EXEC                                                        
C/EXEC SQL                                                        
c+  delete from pnassy where pn not in (select pn from pnmast)    
C/END-EXEC                                                        
C/EXEC SQL                                                        
c+  delete from pnbom where pn not in (select pn from pnmast)     
C/END-EXEC
