It depends on why you are using EVIs.

First, EVIs do not, repeat, do not provide sequencing. So if you ask for a
sequence, the EVI will not be used.

You should not just replace indexes with EVIs because of the previous.

If you are searching through the data for specific subsets of data, then
EVIs may be of value. But you should add them alongside of existing indexes
to verify functionality prior to removal of any existing indexes.
