I think there was a thread on this in December or November, so check the archives. I think the 15,5 rule applies if you are calling the cl from a command line. But from another program it should work because the parameter lengths are known by the program. Personally, I always pass character data to/from cl's. Check the usual problems - incorrect parameter list order, parameter definitions inconsistent, etc. (another reason to use procedures). hth, Phil --- "Bartell, Aaron L.
