I would try a similar search, but search for 'F' in byte 22 of the QRPGLESRC, for "Fixed Format" files. You will pick up other
places where "F" in 22,  but this way you will find all files.

Does anyone know of an easy way to scan through a few hundred members in
QRPGLESRC and find the gems that have internally described physical files in
them???  Unfortunately I can't just scan for the file names because
somewhere along the line someone made all of our files externally described
but left some internal descriptions laying around  [mostly to rename
commonly-used field names in the attempt to make even more unmaintainable
code]  :-)

That's easy...

STRPDM
3 (work with members)
Put in file and library to search
25 (option)
F13 (repeat)
ENTER (will prompt you with FIND STRING screen)

then all you have to do is fill in the info on the find string screen.

For instance put in the FILENAME you are searching for and the position that
it will be located in the RPGLE file.

It will find every instance of that filename in that position for you.
